This documentary seeks to educate local communities and stakeholders on the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process - as per EIA Notification 2006 issued by Ministry of Environment Forest & Climate Change (MoEF & CC). The EIA notification is applicable to 39 industrial activities. This documentary focuses on a specific example of thermal power plant to provide context and setting for explaining the EIA process.
This documentary builds up on the earlier documentary on EIA Process. It seeks to demystify and educate local communities on specific aspects such as definition of EIA and process, sitting conditions for setting up industries, public consultation rules and regulations as dictated by National Green Tribunal, compensation, employment as promised by industries in the EIA documents for the local population, monitoring and compliance measures to be undertaken, recourse to justice and strengthening the EIA process.
